Reconquista Plaza

The staff were lovely and helpful, and the room was very clean. They changed the sheets and towels every day. We could walk to lots of important attractions from this very good location. Breakfast had plenty of choices, including fruit. The rugs and lobby could use some updating, but I’d stay here again.

We checked out just an hour after arriving because the place felt so insecure. The front desk man was kind enough to move us after we complained that the AC didn’t work, but the balcony door in the new room wouldn’t secure properly. The safe wasn’t attached either, so someone could just pick it up and walk off with it. The beds seemed original, the worn carpet creaked, and the elevator appeared to be the only thing updated. It felt like being dropped into the 1940s in the worst way. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.

For the price, this was a good deal compared with nearby hotels, and the building and rooms, while old, seemed cared for. We were there for one night with family, right in the heart of the city with everything close by. Check-in took more than 15 minutes, and the clerk only began the process after we’d already stood around for about five minutes. We could have filled in the form while waiting. Breakfast was just okay, with limited variety. If you arrive at 10 p.m. and need to pay then, keep in mind they only take cash in ARS or USD.

I couldn't get a hairdryer from the hotel, and there were no toiletries like shower caps or cotton buds. The towels were old, frayed and stained, the carpet was filthy, and the bathroom was tiny. Breakfast had few options, and on weekends it wasn't served until 8 a.m. This definitely isn't a four star hotel, or even a three star one.
