Rendez-Vous Hotel Buenos Aires

The hotel itself was fine, but I was charged for an extra night and never got the money back. Two different front desk staff, on separate days, told me the manager would refund my card. After two weeks with nothing, I called and spoke with Willie. He said the refund had been approved on his end and should appear on my credit card, and asked me to check again in a few days. It’s now been a month and there’s still no credit. Willie seemed surprised I’d called to follow up, so I had a feeling this would happen. Shame the manager seems so untrustworthy. If you run into a problem, you’ll see what kind of character you’re dealing with. What a shame the manager kept my money.

The location is great, with Buenos Aires nightlife in Palermo easy to reach on foot. We only stayed one night and, though the hotel was alright overall with no huge red flags, I’d look around because there are lots of deals nearby at this price. The building is narrow and old, with areas needing upkeep: siding coming loose, odd stains on bathroom tiles, and loose outlets. We booked a king bed but got a double, probably due to an international booking and some miscommunication. To their credit, after some back and forth the staff put the twin beds together as a “king”.

My second stay here, and I still think it’s a little gem of a hotel. Small, beautiful, posh and warm, with such a good vibe. Doggies are welcome too. I highly recommend them!

I’d happily stay here again. The rooftop spa looks out over the city, and the private patios and security system are lovely touches. I also met the owner of Frederick, who shared so much of the hotel’s history with me. It’s a chic, beautiful boutique hotel, with gorgeous architecture and a fascinating story behind it.
