RH Rochester Concept

The room photos gave a misleading impression. The rooms are too small, the bathroom is tiny, and there aren't any closets. The air conditioning is controlled from somewhere other than the room, and it gets far too cold. Breakfast is the same every day, with just one hot choice, scrambled eggs. There's no restaurant, and not even coffee during the day.

The service was good apart from a few practical issues. The shower was a little odd, there was no iron to press our clothes, and they didn't have an adapter we could borrow for the different outlets.

The pleasant employees and location were the only good parts of this awful stay. The rooms were tiny, with barely space for one suitcase, and the walls were extremely thin. Our toilet was blocked, the air vents were filthy, and there was no in-room temperature control for the AC. If you like it warmer or colder, too bad. There was no iron, though they charge for laundry and ironing, and no help with tours. Breakfast was mostly continental, with scrambled eggs as the only hot option. On the third day the eggs looked grey. When we pointed it out, an employee said something in Spanish, mashed the grey bits into the rest, and covered up the bad-looking food. I came from Australia for my Babymoon and was staying here after my attempt to book Rochester Classic failed at the final payment stage on their website. I still had until 14th Jan 2017 at this hotel. At check-in, I was told we could move hotels and just pay the difference. Based on the website prices, that should have been $100ARS for the same standard room: Rochester Concept Standard Double at $804ARS per night and Rochester Classic Standard Double at $900ARS per night. Instead, they wanted $360ARS, with no regard for the obvious difference in the prices. I overheard a guest speaking Spanish with her friend. I could only make out her disapproving expression and a story involving Rochester Classic. I think something fishy is going on with how stays are arranged between the two hotels. Avoid this place at all costs.

We booked this place because it was central and the cheapest option. The accommodation turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty to choose from: breads, pastries, fresh fruit, cheese, meats, yogurt, cereal, and cakes. Really good!
