The location worked well for getting to banks, cafes and supermarkets, and it’s central for most things to do in Buenos Aires. There are some homeless people living next to the building by the large bins, but they didn’t cause guests any problems. Our apartment had plenty of space and was comfortable enough for our stay, with a reasonable set of amenities. There was mould in the bathroom, though, and it should be easy enough to remove. Reception and concierge support were great and hassle free.

I didn’t stay at this hotel. This is about how it handles prices. I cancelled after learning that the prices shown in ARS pesos aren’t actually payable in pesos. The listing for this hotel in Argentina quotes pesos, but the confirmation email lists US Dollars, and the hotel confirmed by email that it charges in US Dollars. A room that looks like it costs $30 USD per night, or 16,000 ARS pesos in July 2023, comes to closer to $60 USD per night when charged to your card. Cash payment isn’t available in either USD or ARS pesos. Buyer beware. Check what you’ll really be charged, since there are plenty of better hotels if you double the price range you planned to pay.

The staff are really nice, and the area feels safe. You can walk to everything you’d want to explore in central buenos aires.

The pool was a nice feature, with a lifeguard always on duty and exclusive towels for the pool area. We were also impressed by Gonzalo and Raúl, the concierges, and Pablo, the lifeguard. The room was excellent, with air conditioning, a smart TV, a sofa, two very comfortable beds, a microwave, a refrigerator, a stovetop, and spotless bathrooms. We arrived around noon on the day we checked in and were surprised that a room was already available. Check-in is at 3 PM, but the concierge kindly let us in early. The area is easy to get around from, close to the subway and buses, and Retiro is just seven blocks away. Highly recommended.
