Villa Huapi

The beach is lovely for a walk at sunset, and the rooms have beautiful views of the lake and mountains. Villa Huapi Luxury Resort feels very safe, with exceptionally comfortable rooms and excellent service. It's a truly beautiful place.

The views are beautiful, but the apartment was freezing. They wouldn't turn on the heat, and it was really impossible to stay there. I told them twice I was with a newborn, but they did nothing. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The towels were really fluffy and comfortable, and if you're in a lake-facing room the view is great. The resort also has direct access to the lake, so walking along the beach at sunset was lovely. But rooms on the other side face RN 40 and are far from the lake. The place doesn't look as well maintained as the photos suggest, and it needs serious upkeep. Our safe didn't work. The front desk came to reset it, but it still wouldn't work, and the person who could repair it wasn't available. The Wi-Fi was poor, and the front desk blamed the signal on being in Patagonia. The property just needs better routers. There was no complimentary water or drink on arrival to make us feel valued. Whenever you leave, they make you open your trunk in case you've stolen something. If you're paying the nightly rate, I doubt you'd steal anything worth taking. They call this a luxury resort, but the label doesn't make it one, just as calling fast food fine dining wouldn't. Hotels in Bariloche seem to think the view alone will keep guests happy. They need to offer value for the money. At best, this is a 3-star hotel.

The lake views are great, but the complex is poor apart from that. The pool was filthy, with bird and duck droppings everywhere, and the gym had no equipment. The roads are awful, and the restaurant was very average. When the sprinklers come on, there's a disgusting smell, as if raw sewage is being used to water the grass. They also make you open your car boot when you leave. The facilities are badly maintained.
