Apart Chalten

The location is excellent, right on the main street beside the supermarket, and the bed was very comfortable. The place has three beds. In the kitchen there’s a working four-burner stove, microwave, a reasonable assortment of dishes, two saucepans, and a pasta strainer. There wasn’t a griddle or anything for cooking meat, or a peeler. They provide tea bags and some coffee in a small jar to brew with a strainer. There’s bath soap but no shampoo. The TV turned on, but nothing worked because the remote was out of batteries.

The location is good and the beds are comfortable, but we weren’t comfortable at any point during our stay. There’s no gate, so the entrance opens straight onto the street. The stairs were covered in urine every day, and a drunk man was sitting there when we left. The manager tried to help, but the apartment has a lot of problems. It lacks the utensils needed to cook, which is impractical when traveling with children and eating out every day. The tiny refrigerator didn’t work on the first day, and there’s no oven or toaster. The heating is awful, either unbearably hot or freezing, with no in-between. One glass shower partition is missing its track and swings sideways, which is very uncomfortable and dangerous for small children. The TV is ancient and only DirecTV works, no apps. There’s also an old armchair with a broken leg. The price is quite high for what’s provided.

We stayed in the two-bedroom apartment, which was spacious, comfortable, and very quiet for resting. It’s right in the center, close to restaurants, an ice cream shop, and a supermarket. The shower water was super hot, and the underfloor heating was spotless. Silvia was always attentive and gave excellent service, as did Julieta. Apart Chalten is fabulous and close to everything. We’ll definitely return.

There’s a convenience store right on the corner, and the location is the best in Calafate. The apartment was perfect for our family or a group of friends. The owner and Silvia, the manager, were both wonderful and always attentive to what we needed. Excellent place, highly recommend.
