Schilling Patagonia Travellers - Hostel

I stayed one night here between two long bus rides, totaling 13 hours, and it was just right. My private room and bathroom were cute, quiet, and functional, and I liked the old-school key for the rooms. The shared areas were comfortable, breakfast was good with fresh fruit, and the front staff were very helpful and communicated well. I'd definitely stay again.

We had a comfortable, pleasant stay at Hotel Schilling. The place was cozy, clean, and well organized, and breakfast was very good. César was especially kind and attentive, and the reception staff were friendly too.

The lavender in front of the hotel is lovely, but one male staff member was rude and horrible that morning. We had booked a tour, and they told us we could wait at the hotel. I suggest tour companies not have people wait here for guests who aren't staying at the hotel. There were two of us, and one had only just started sitting halfway on the bench by the lavender when he rudely pushed them away before they were even seated. We were scared and moved away immediately, and didn't stay by the bench. We're all human, and he could have spoken kindly. We would have understood. There was no need to be rude. This place is extremely close to a supermarket, which is a big plus, and the hostel is very clean. I booked a dorm bed, but the staff kindly upgraded me to a private room. I had a fever before arriving, and getting proper sleep and rest here helped it go away completely, so I really appreciate that gesture. Breakfast is nice, nothing special, but eggs, coffee, fruit, and bread are all you need before a glacier trip. The staff are excellent, always kind and helpful, so I really can't find a downside.
