The only real drawback was the slow wifi. Otherwise, the owner was a big help with exchanging money and planning our hikes, and the apartment was well equipped and felt very luxurious for travelers. Great value for the price. I’d highly recommend it to anyone hiking in El Chalten who wants a peaceful, comfortable place.

It’s quite a walk from the town center and bus terminal, but the hostel is right at the Laguna Torre trailhead, which is super convenient for that hike. The owners live in another building just a short walk away, so check-in happens there. The instructions are clearly posted on the hostel door when you arrive. We were comfortable here. There are three shared bathrooms, so we rarely had to wait, and the showers worked great. Starlink wifi was reliable, and we could cook our own meals in the shared kitchen.

The location was amazing and the staff were great. My stay at Hostel & Departamentos Kaiken was decent overall, though noise was an issue. Private rooms seem to be mixed in with public areas, and I was woken up several times by loud guests. Still, it’s a good option if location is what you’re after.

I never got to stay here because I had to cancel my trip unexpectedly at the last minute. The host kindly refunded my deposit, which showed me they were reliable. I’d still recommend the place.

The owner was lovely and the price was good. We had a large, very clean room and a comfortable bed. The kitchen was huge and had everything we needed for cooking, and the dining room was really cozy. We enjoyed our stay.
