They even went above and beyond to look after our bags and point us toward local things to do. We had no problems, and there was no deposit, despite that coming up in other reviews. The rooms were clean, and the new management were incredibly sweet and welcoming. We had a fantastic one-night stay. You won’t regret it. Sleep well.

The host was so welcoming and helped us out more than once, including with great suggestions when parts of our onward trip were canceled. Rooms are simple, but clean and perfectly good, and breakfast was nice. The only little thing was that it felt a bit too warm with the heating on.

Ara, the new owner, is amazing. The lodge is lovely, with hot showers and good internet, plus a sweet front patio where you can hang out or cook on your own stove. Breakfast is simple, and tea and coffee are available all day. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from the main street.

Ara let us check in early since the room was ready, which was a nice touch. The place is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop, just off the main strip, and roughly a 10-minute walk to the hiking trails. Ask Ara if you need help. The second-floor breakfast area also has great mountain views. Ara and the team were friendly and hospitable throughout my three nights. She’s helpful, involved, and knows the area well, with lots of advice on trails and places to eat. I even spotted her running down a trail once. The room was clean and basic, not fancy, but had what I needed: shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, and towels. I wished there were more than one bathroom hook. The walls are a little thin, so light sleepers might want a room farther down the hall. I think laundry was available for 20,000 pesos or $15 USD. Breakfast is included: scrambled eggs, bread, a pound-cake-like bread, jam and butter, plus cornflakes, milk, orange juice, tea, and coffee. I’d recommend this place.
