The antique furniture and vintage machinery give the common areas some character, and there’s plenty of space there. But none of it is air-conditioned, so the summer heat gets unbearable. The breakfast was poor and served in the same hot conditions. The pool and the rest of the building seem badly neglected, and there’s no elevator. We had to haul our bags up narrow stairs to a higher floor. The rooms were small and shabby, with damp walls, mold in the shower, bad beds, and weak air conditioning. A huge letdown. I’ve crossed this hotel off my list.

Betty and the other receptionists gave excellent service, and I’d be happy to come back. The rooms are roomy and pleasant, with very comfortable beds, a mini-fridge, TV, and a little table and chairs. Ours looked out over the pool. The breakfast had tea, croissants, toast, cereal, fruit, and pastries. The pool is lovely too, with loungers for soaking up the sun. Every detail of the place is beautiful.

Garibaldi restaurant, right beside the hotel, serves a good range of tasty dishes. At the hotel, the staff were excellent, the facilities and amenities were very good, and the location is convenient.
