Rincón Alto Cabañas

We spent four days at Rincón Alto and everything worked: the air conditioning for heating and cooling, refrigerator, water heater, and even the iron in the hallway. The kitchen was fully equipped; when we asked for a bottle opener, it arrived right away. The wood storage was very organized and well stocked, and both fireplaces worked without smoke, with a good draft. The sunken living room is tasteful and a real treat. We stayed in cabin FUEGO, one of the beautiful stone cabins set apart from each other and facing the mountains across a spacious park. It was all clean and in good condition. There were two full bathrooms, one en suite with a bathtub and the other with a shower, plus a large bedroom with a roomy closet and a wood-burning stove. Excellent idea... ;) Ciro gave us a simple, brief welcome, which was fine. I highly recommend the place.

The property is generally very nice, but I wouldn’t recommend it in winter. The stone buildings get very cold and there isn’t heating. They do leave a good supply of firewood, and the wood-burning stove gives enough warmth. The shower was unreliable, swinging between too cold and too hot, with rather weak water flow.

A quiet place to unwind, with a beautiful park and a lovely, spacious pool. The cabin is very well equipped. In hot weather it gets quite warm inside, and the Wi-Fi doesn’t work very well.

The best part was our host, Virma, who was so kind and welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic and all homemade, and we enjoyed the nice pool. The cabins were very comfortable and had everything we needed and more. We also appreciated how they’re set apart for privacy. My partner and I really liked the property. It’s currently being renovated, so we’ll definitely return once the sauna and yoga room are open. Thank you, Virna!
