Gran Hotel Olavarria

Just average.

The rooms are lovely and recently renovated, with roomy beds and good mattresses. The shower had very good water, and there’s parking too. I really enjoyed the coffee and croissants. Since this is a dairy area, maybe they could add some yogurt and cheese.

The main thing I’d improve is the breakfast service. We arrived at 9:56 after a small problem with our room door had delayed us. The door wouldn’t close, even after housekeeping tried, so they called maintenance, who came quickly and fixed it. I’d told the morning reception staff on February 16, 2026, that my partner and I would come down for breakfast, since the maintenance staff had been left with our breakfast. A woman told us breakfast was only until 10 and said it was an order. After I explained, she checked with an older woman, who said we could sit down. A few minutes later an alarm went off, and the first woman loudly pointed out that it was 10, even though we’d arrived just a few minutes before and other tables were occupied while she was still serving. We ate quickly, thanked her politely, and didn’t even ask for hot water for our mate. We mentioned the service to the young man at reception. It’s something they could improve. Otherwise, it was great, and I recommend it. The location was excellent. The receptionist who answered the phone early on February 16 was very friendly. When we arrived and found the garage full, he directed us to another spot where he could keep an eye on the car.

We only stayed one night before continuing our trip, but really liked the hotel. It was very comfortable, the service was great, and there was parking for cars and motorcycles.
