Esperanto Hostel

I tried calling a lot but nobody answered, so I went over in person. Luckily, they had a bed free. The receptionist was super friendly, and the hostel seemed clean. I got in late and left early, so I can't say much about the general atmosphere. The women's shower was a bit run down, the bed wasn't very comfortable, and the sheets were thin and old. They did help me get a taxi early in the morning. I felt safe, but I wouldn't stay here again.

I spent about four weeks here, and nowhere else in Latin America felt as much like home. I hope everyone traveling to Salta gets to enjoy the same warm, friendly atmosphere I found at Esperanto. They let me take the adorable Murga for walks every day, and she loved going out regularly. I miss Argentina a lot. This was one of the highlights of my trip, five stars any day of the week.

The reception is open around the clock, which made arriving at 2 am no problem. It's a few blocks from the center, but still close enough. The rooms were warm and nice, the showers hot, and breakfast basic but fine. The hostel staff were really helpful with all my questions. There are lockers outside the rooms too.

The volunteer was kind enough to swap beds with me when I got stuck in a dorm facing the noisy street, so I could sleep in the quieter room. Staff were friendly and helpful, the showers were warm, the value was good, and the kitchen was clean. Also, there's a cute dog.
