Solar De La Plaza

We really enjoyed both of our stays. The staff were excellent, the rooms were good, parking was great, and the food at the restaurant was good too. It’s much better to be a ten-minute walk from central plaza than right in it, and I’d gladly recommend the hotel. It’s starting to fray around the edges and needs proper maintenance. One of our best stays in Argentina. Breakfast coffee wasn’t the best, and eggs might have been nice, but otherwise we couldn’t fault it.

The central location made it easy to walk to shops and the centre, and the rooms were a good size and nicely furnished. The staff were very attentive. What made the stay a two-star one for me was the constant droning through the public areas, possibly from the air conditioning. It was loud in my room and kept me awake, though other travellers didn't seem bothered. Wi-Fi also dropped out every few minutes. There were water refill stations in two spots, but no complimentary bottles.

First-class service, and the restaurant food is delicious.

Breakfast was disappointing for a hotel in this category, and there are plenty of excellent coffee shops nearby. The rooms are spacious and clean, with large, well-equipped bathrooms. The hotel feels a little dated for four stars, though it's right in the heart of Salta in a fairly quiet spot. Staff are attentive, if a bit aloof in the Argentinian way. The old air conditioning is noisy and seems to be either freezing or off, so it wasn't useful at night.
