Cabañas Las Marias

The resort itself is beautiful, and everything else about our stay was great. Our two-bedroom cabin was comfortable and nice, but it didn’t look like the photos on Booking.com. The bathroom was the worst part for me: it flooded completely when I showered, and there wasn’t even a shelf for anything, not even shampoo.

The pool stayed clean throughout our visit, and we could use it whenever we wanted. The staff were also helpful when we asked for trash bags and fresh towels. We stayed in cabin number 15, which was clean and comfortable when we arrived, though a few basics were missing, including detergent, a lighter, a dish towel, and some cooking utensils. Breakfast came with the stay: coffee, milk, tea, juice, fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast, shaved ice, and once, squares of pastafrola, a type of tart. The croissants and pastries were hard and didn’t seem fresh any day. I heard several other people complain about them. Breakfast was okay, but the food could be better. The complex is huge, with lots of cabins. The shower had hot water and very good pressure. We had a really good experience overall, and I recommend it.

There’s plenty of nature around the spacious complex, with grills, pools, and covered parking. The staff were friendly, and there was a board with useful phone numbers. The cabin itself was roomy, and breakfast was regular, with coffee, milk, tea, croissants, toast, and fruit. The pool was free to use. A few things made the stay less comfortable. The Wi-Fi was awful, so I had to leave the cabin to get a signal, even though it’s something you need all the time. The TVs were old and not smart TVs, and the mattresses were uncomfortable enough that I could feel the wooden bed frame. Parking wasn’t managed, so people sometimes ignored the marked spaces and made it hard to park. The kitchen had very few dishes and was missing basic things like dishcloths, detergent, and even a lighter. There was no sofa in the living room, and we could hear a lot from the neighboring cabins.

There’s so much tree cover that it stayed cool even during the really hot days we had. Everything was lovely and very clean, and all the staff were kind. The pool was great, with a shallow section for little ones and a depth that worked for both older kids and adults. Breakfast was really good for the price, you couldn’t ask for more. One thought: it would be great if they had a little shop, since there aren’t any businesses nearby.
