Hotel Sumay Jujuy

It was okay.

The location is excellent, right by the historic centre, and the service was good. Though it’s an older hotel, our room was small but clean and everything worked. Breakfast is a buffet, not great, but adequate for the price. They don’t take debit cards, which I found a major drawback.

We stayed for the location, but that was a bad call. It was very expensive for the service: there was only soap, no shampoo or conditioner, and no hairdryer, despite what I’d read in reviews. Worse, there was no hot water, so we couldn’t shower, and we were freezing all night. Terrible experience. I wouldn’t recommend it under any circumstances.

Breakfast had plenty of variety, and the staff were really friendly. The rooms and facilities are clearly dated, but they were clean, with cleaning done mid-morning and fresh towels supplied. The location is the big plus, just a block from the main square and close to shops, restaurants, and the pedestrian area. A good fit for a short work trip or a base for seeing the city, though I wouldn’t plan to spend the whole day here.
