El Sosiego

I don't recommend this place. We came as a delegation and needed somewhere comfortable to stay. The owner had been told that the group included 15 to 17-year-olds competing. Throughout our stay, though, we got nothing but disrespect from the owner's son. He seemed bothered by the kids making noise or speaking loudly, and even disrespected them and tried to get violent with them, despite knowing adults were responsible for them.

The apartment was cold enough that I woke up congested, and at night there was such a strong gas smell that I shut the gas off and didn't use the stove. There weren't even basics like toilet paper or shampoo. Camilo treated me terribly. He says he's the "owner," but I feel like he's trying to scam his customers. We've been going to Trelew about once a month for two years and used to stay here because it was near the highway. Héctor had always been a helpful host. We'd transfer the money, he'd send the apartment code, and we'd stay wherever we were comfortable if it was free. On our last trip, we asked about a particular apartment and Héctor said it was available. As soon as I paid for two nights, he said it was occupied and put us somewhere else. We were uncomfortable there the first night. The apartment we'd originally asked for was actually unoccupied, so I asked to move there for night two. He stopped replying and answering my calls. When I rang from another number, he said I couldn't pick an apartment and he'd put me wherever he wanted. He'd never said that before. He wouldn't refund the second night, even though we weren't going to use it. Eventually he agreed to return half, claiming I'd stayed until noon, though I'd left at 9:00 AM and told him right away. The money never came, and he blocked me on WhatsApp. Since I was already going to lose the second night's payment, I had no choice but to go back to the first apartment.

Handy location, with the shopping center just across the road. The place is clean, quiet, and comfortable, just right for a night.

We were exhausted and hungry, and didn't know the area, so the owner pointed us toward a nearby place to eat. He came over as soon as we called, even though we'd reached town very late and hadn't booked. The location made it easy to find, without having to go far into the city. And that bed! We got up full of energy for the next leg of the trip. I'd definitely come back, highly recommend it!
