Hostel El Agora

We turned around and left. Five minutes after checking in, new people showed up and the owner decided to move us upstairs, where a family and a baby were staying. We didn't want to be in a room while the baby's diaper was being changed. The owner couldn't understand why. We have nothing against babies, but don't think a backpacker is the right place for them. I still can't believe they thought we'd be fine with the change and say nothing.

The kitchen was a good point, with a large fridge, microwave, and oven. You're also near a supermarket and only a few blocks from the bus station, at most a ten minute walk. The place didn't look well maintained and felt kind of dirty. Wi-Fi worked around 70% of the time. There were rooms for four and eight people, but they shared just one bathroom and shower. Help depended on which receptionist was on duty, and everyone had very poor English. I asked about renting a car to get to Punta Tombo and got, "I don't know..." The shower had weak pressure and only about five spray holes; it felt dirty, and the curtain looked like it hadn't been changed in ages. My locker started around 1.8 meters high, above my height, so it was awkward to put my things away. There's no air conditioning, which made it very hot in summer, in December for me.

The neighborhood is lovely, and the owner is so friendly. I've stayed more than twice; it feels like a family place, and the service is excellent. ❤️
