The price was unbelievably low for a four-star hotel, and I’d book here again if I return to Tucumán. We were even allowed to use the rooftop pool during Covid-19, which I hadn’t expected when we asked. The pool and rooftop need maintenance, though, like much of the building. With repairs and some investment, it could be back among the top hotels, and its classic looks are worth keeping. The hotel has clearly seen better days. It was probably top of the line once, but now it’s old-fashioned and rough around the edges. Repairs would help it hold on to its four-star rating. There are still appealing details, like the long hallways, carpeted floors, cozy bedrooms, and wooden furniture that’s in very good shape. Our room was small but cozy, with a comfortable bed, two big closets, a minibar, and a TV. The bathroom had a distinctive style from the time the hotel was built, including blue-violet fixtures. There was a crack in the wall, which wasn’t a major issue, but the AC didn’t work properly and there weren’t enough outlets for devices. The concierge and other staff were polite and helpful. Free breakfast, Wi-Fi, and parking are useful amenities in a city like Tucumán. I’d recommend staying here whether it’s for a night, a week, or a month.
