Hotel La Pedrera

We were scammed over a house in January 2022: we transferred the money, and the people disappeared. When we explained what had happened, the hotel staff made room for us. They were so kind, and we're still grateful. The hotel is lovely, with a dreamy pool and view. Excellent, I'm speechless!

Villa Carlos Paz is a nice neighborhood and the location is good, but I don't think I'll come back. The place needs some cleaning: the pretty pool has algae stains on the little mosaic tiles in one section. The rooms are clean, though they need maintenance. The shower area lacks things like nightstands and hair dryers, and breakfast was acceptable.

The family-friendly place is quiet and well located in the mountains of Carlos Paz, with good price and quality. We were treated really well. Breakfast was included, and there was covered parking, a pool, and clean, comfortable rooms. I loved it and recommend it. I hope to return soon and plan all the activities that made me want to come back. Thank you 👏👏🤩✨⛰❤️

After an eight-hour trip, we reached reception and were told our reservation didn't exist and there was no room for us. We'd booked by phone and WhatsApp with a deposit, and they had called the day before to confirm. The person who took the booking was the one dealing with us in person. Only after he realized and admitted the mistake did he improvise something while we waited in the lobby. We'd also asked about covered parking, but were told the garage held only 4 cars and was full. The hotel looked nothing like the retouched photos. The first room he found was a tiny, basement-like hovel, with exposed wires, doors that wouldn't shut, blown electrical outlets, a musty smell, mold, a disastrous bathroom, rusty heaters, and a window that wouldn't open onto gas pipes and a crumbling wall. The air conditioner looked like it was from the 80s. When we pointed out how different it was from the photos, he offered free Pekos tickets as compensation and said the hotel had been closed for a year, which was why it hadn't been aired out. We turned down the "supposed gift" because the smell was unbearable and the services were deplorable. He then showed us another room that would be empty the next day, but it was messy and full of tenants' belongings. It was a terrifying two-by-two space, with broken doors and no ventilation outside the hotel. To top it off, a second-floor room was also occupied by another tenant. It was more modern, but had terrible mold stains across the ceiling and walls. The maintenance was completely neglected. We demanded our cash payment back, but they kept the deposit. Carnival meant we couldn't find another place to stay, so we had no choice but to return home. They ruined our vacation. "Deplorable" doesn't cover it, zero stars, a total rip-off. The positive reviews must be from them. Don't bother going!
