Spectacular.

The only person who was pleasant and polite was the waiter. The owners never came by to deal with any of the problems we raised. There was no Wi-Fi at all during our nine nights, not even in the shared areas, and the gym equipment was rusty and broken. The ping-pong table and paddles were broken, too. I don’t know what chemicals they use in the pool, but our swimsuits turned yellow. I could keep going. I paid for five beds, but was shown an apartment for three with mattresses on the floor. Later they split us between two apartments. The next day, their only solution was to move us to a duplex with three beds, one of them double. I was traveling with my mother and three granddaughters. A week before, they’d sent me a form asking for details about our family group, though I don’t know what it was for. I’d paid a deposit a month in advance. For the rest of the stay, we had to set up and fold away two cots whenever we wanted to sleep or go out onto the terrace. There were two air conditioners but only one remote, so we had to go up or down the stairs to turn them on or off or change the temperature. Then the remote stopped working. We asked for another, and were told no. Whenever it rained, we had to ask for a floor cloth. They never gave us a broom and dustpan, so we had to sleep with dirt between the cots, even though I’d paid for beds, or sweep the kitchen after five people used it. I ended up buying a rag and using it to pick up crumbs. Cleaning was supposed to be daily, but meant only sweeping, making the beds, and emptying the bathroom bin. There was no floor or bathroom disinfectant. The fixed table was so awkward that you had to be thin to sit and eat. There was no security: the French doors and kitchen window wouldn’t close. The toilet leaked. They fixed it, but it was leaking again the next day. The bathroom had no ventilation or exhaust fan. The night we plugged in the air conditioner, the power went out. The reception staff blamed one another for everything. There were no dish towels, cups, or kitchen utensils, and although there was a grill, there were no cooking utensils. We had to ask for a microwave and cups for tea because the kettle was broken and leaking. The restaurant menu didn’t have enough variety for a stay longer than three days, and breakfast was unhealthy. The juice was powdered, there was no almond milk, and there wasn’t enough bread. We stayed nine nights and got no improvement in our sleeping or living comfort. There was just one face towel for five people, which is unheard of, and one day there were no towels at all. They said they weren’t ready. This is the worst place I’ve ever vacationed.

The indoor pool was a welcome way to cool off after a day of sightseeing. From the breakfast area, the view was amazing, and I got my best photos there. The duplex worked really well for our family: we had a double bed upstairs and two bunk beds downstairs where the kids slept comfortably. Air conditioning on both floors was a huge help in the Villa Carlos Paz heat. My husband also loved having a grill on the balcony, and the microwave and refrigerator were very useful with the kids.

The view is the one good thing. The location is great, but the rooms are old and need maintenance. Breakfast was awful, with nothing beyond bread and cold cuts or junk food like nougat and popcorn. I couldn’t even eat it. I wouldn’t go back, and it’s not worth the price.

The cooks, waiters, and housekeepers were all wonderful, and the resort staff were very attentive. Please fix the road leading to the resort.
