The property is beautiful, and the two sinks were spotless. The other bedroom was fine, too. But the cabins seem to have lost a lot of their former upkeep: they need cleaning and maintenance. There were cobwebs in the upstairs bedroom, and we even found a dead spider on the sheets. The double bed was a disaster, sagging badly.

It’s a peaceful place with plenty of shady spots beneath the trees, and the fenced pool is lovely for children. The town center is only about five minutes away by car. The cabins are quite well equipped, though there are a few small maintenance issues, which is understandable given their age. The owners are very friendly. I definitely recommend it.

We found everything we wanted at Cabañas Taparacu, and I’d definitely come back. The owners made us feel so welcome, and the grounds and pool were spotless and inviting. The cabins are comfortable and well equipped, with what you need for a memorable stay. And the mountain views are picture perfect. It’s a dream spot for anyone who loves nature.

The location is fairly close to the center, and the design, decor, and pool are beautiful. The living room windows and the simple, pretty kitchen have a nice view. The country-style armchairs, table, and chairs are lovely, but an armrest was so loose it nearly came off, as were some of the chairs. The fan and light over the table wobbled badly when turned up. There are many maintenance problems throughout the cabin, and the price makes the poor value especially disappointing. I have photos of what I’m describing, but don’t think it’s relevant to upload them. I hope they take better care of the cabins, because there’s a lot of potential here. The pool looked beautiful, and they cleared leaves from the surface, but the bottom wasn’t vacuumed and was quite dirty by the end of our stay. Breakfast was coffee, milk and/or tea with homemade bread and butter or jam. The owner and his wife were friendly. He asked us to write down everything we noticed, which made it seem like the cabins aren’t being maintained properly. Neither when we left nor beforehand did he offer help with the cabin’s problems, despite the high price. What a shame. The kitchen ceiling had quite a few cobwebs, so it also needed more cleaning. There was a “Do Not Touch” sign on the gas water heater, and we understood why: whenever it was switched on, the burner malfunctioned and the flame shot out a little. It was scary and dangerous. The bathrooms were very nice, but needed paint work, with poor application in places and peeling paint. There was also mold in the bathtubs. The upstairs toilet would partly clog when used, and the downstairs bidet didn’t work. The room needed repainting, too. One bedside lamp had a burned-out bulb, which the owner fixed quickly, and that room was missing the ceiling light and fan fixture. The worn-out spring mattress on the double bed sank when we sat down, and we felt the springs poking us several times. The owner suggested pushing the single beds downstairs together, but we refused because there would be a gap in the middle. The stair railing is made of thin, flimsy wood and seems likely to break if you lean on it too hard. It’s not suitable for children or older people who might lean on it. The air conditioner wouldn’t start because the remote was the wrong one, so the owner had to bring the correct remote.
