The food was the biggest surprise for me. I didn't expect a country inn to have such a high quality kitchen. The vegan oyster mushrooms with blackberries came with a broth that was so elegant and complex, I briefly forgot where I was. The spelt dumplings with red wine nuts and pumpkin were balanced, with each flavor coming through. No unnecessary frills, just real skill. Even the beer list felt carefully chosen, and the drinks were clearly given thought. 🍺 Gasthof Bauböck is family run, warm, and relaxed, so it's easy to feel at home. The rooms are spacious, cozy, and wonderfully quiet. Service was attentive and genuinely friendly, and the atmosphere makes you want to stay in. If you think country inns are boring, this one might pleasantly surprise you. Go, eat, drink, and come back. ❤️
