The room was very clean and Hotel Thaneller has very nice facilities, but I wouldn't recommend staying there. Staff were very unfriendly. Even on half pension, a simple mineral water with dinner cost €5,40. We had to settle drinks each night with the person we ordered from, and the card machine often didn't work. When we asked for one total bar bill instead, they got angry and told us that if it was such a problem, we should look more carefully when booking next time. We often smelled smoke in our bedroom, and a party organized by the hotel kept us from sleeping. Joining that party would have cost an extra €25.

We booked this restaurant at the last minute for New Year's Eve (Silvester). At first, they seated us in an empty entrance hall, far from the crowd, which didn't feel promising for a festive dinner. After waiting 20 minutes and waving quite a lot, a waitress came over. We ordered drinks and asked to move to one of the apparently empty tables in the busy main hall, but she said no. Fortunately, the restaurant manager was much friendlier and moved us there without trouble. For the price, the Silvester menu was disappointing, and definitely below par compared with every other restaurant we tried in Berwang.
