The food was a highlight, with creative, delicious dishes made from local seasonal ingredients and presented beautifully. The resort also gave us a lovely balance of activity and downtime: we went hiking and enjoyed scenic activities and wellness options, then relaxed by the fire and at the spa the next day. The mountain views were breathtaking and shifted with the light. Staff noticed the small details, remembered what we liked, and made us feel cared for from arrival. It's a special escape where nature and luxury come together. We're already planning to return.

The setting in the mountains of Ehrwald stays with you, visible from almost every window. Eriro's design and daily pace made the place feel like home, with warm interiors full of local wool and wood. Guests change into cosy socks on arrival, and I wore mine almost constantly. A fire is always smoldering, the days move slowly, and you can wander upstairs to do pottery, woodworking, or painting. The hospitality, quietly guided by Henning, brings everything together without making a show of it. The team made it easy to settle in, handling details with calm care. Chef Alex leads a remarkable food program, using ingredients from within roughly 100km and doing much more than the usual farm-to-table routine. The preserving, pantry work, and fermentation are extensive and thoughtful, with ingredients reused creatively and respectfully. As a former chef, I know how hard that is to do well, and they do it at a very high level. Martin's wine and spirits program is a lovely match, with his deep knowledge and enthusiasm for Austrian wines and regional spirits. The pairings felt personal and rooted in love of the craft. We left feeling restored and already thinking about coming back. Sustainability, food, design, and hospitality all feel naturally connected here.

With just nine accommodations, the place can offer very personal service. We spent three days there and felt like part of a family. The residence, food, and staff were all fantastic. Max and Hennis went above and beyond what we expected. I just hope we get lucky enough to return, even if it means flying across an ocean.

Being surrounded by horses and cows was lovely, and the food was even better than the rest of the stay. Fresh local ingredients, tasty dishes, tableside service, and excellent wine pairings. We loved the gondola ride, mountain biking, and pottery classes, and the three hot tubs and great service helped us recharge body and mind. I'd love to go back in winter for skiing and more of that butter! 🧈
