Hotel Restaurant Faustschlössl

Dinner outside at sunset, looking out over the Danube, was a real treat, especially with the sun shining. The food was excellent, and the service was friendly and helpful. Just what you'd hope for from a family-run hotel in Austria.

The WiFi was much better around reception and the restaurant, but in my room it was very slow and kept disconnecting, so I couldn't get online reliably. The room itself was spacious and very clean, with a lovely Danube view. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable, though it got quite hot and there were no fans. AC is available on the property, but a small fan would have made the room more comfortable. Dinner was really nice too. Just keep in mind the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The restaurant was excellent, especially the salmon with pesto, mushroom risotto, and house white wine. With the food and the elevated view over the Danube, we didn't need to head into town, even though it's a little way off. We arrived by bike and found the staff friendly, and the pool was a welcome sight after a long ride. The rooms facing the river have a great view, though the afternoon sun makes them hot. The road up to the hotel is steep, so if you're cycling you'll need to walk your bike. I'd recommend it as a hotel, and especially for the restaurant.

The Danube-side location and view were lovely, and there’s a swimming pool, friendly staff, and delicious food served in good portions. Payment was a little awkward since we couldn't charge it to the room and had to pay after dinner. They were flexible, though, and even let us pay for the room in advance instead of waiting until morning.
