Hotel Persal

We had a fantastic time at Hotel Persal in Finkenberg, and would definitely stay again. The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful, even giving us useful advice and help with planning our hikes. The room was spacious and beautifully clean, with a balcony overlooking the mountains, just right for unwinding after a day out. The cleaning staff kept everything spotless each day. Food was another highlight: a generous breakfast buffet, a piece of cake in the afternoon, and a delicious four-course dinner with three main dishes to choose from. A top-quality hotel that I highly recommend.

I stayed here in early September as a break during a longer trip, and the place was lovely. It has everything a hiking enthusiast wants: great views, good food, and a sauna. The staff are super friendly, and I’ll do my best to come back.

The value for money was excellent, and I’d definitely return to Persal. Service was excellent too, and our clean room had a balcony view that’s hard to beat. Dinner at the restaurant was decent, though nothing special. Breakfast was much the same, a fairly mediocre experience. They should seriously do something about the number of flies, though.

The location and the rooms with spectacular views were the positives. The food was awful, though, at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast runs until 10, but if you arrive at 9:30 there are no eggs, and you have to order them, even though they’re free. That’s ridiculous. Dinner had a limited menu and didn’t taste good. The dogs in the hotel were another major negative. Guests were allowed to bring very large dogs, and there was also an employee's dog on the restaurant balcony. It came up to my daughter without a collar. Our room had no fridge, and the only in-room service was a couple of coffees, nothing more. For me, the view from some rooms is the only reason to go there. Nothing else.
