We found half board excellent value, and I’d recommend taking it for dinner since there are very few restaurant options nearby. The menu was a great mix across both days, and the dessert spread, especially the chocolate fondue, was the best. Our larger 37sqm room was spacious and nice, though there was no tea or coffee in the room. The hotel is in Finkenberg. For better hikes and views, drive toward the Tux region and take the bus to Hintertux. There’s also a little church opposite the hotel with some great walks to Mayrhofen, which is about 1.5 hours on foot or a 10-minute drive. Mayrhofen is the closest town for excellent restaurants and bars. Beautiful area, just 2.5 hours from Munich. Highly recommended.

We stayed here while hiking in the mountains around Finkenberg and Hintertux, and the staff were fantastic. When the hotel was full, though, the kitchen got very busy and could have used more servers to bring the food. If you want a massage, I recommend booking before you arrive. The room and hotel were clean, with nothing to complain about there. The room has a classic Austrian style, but that wasn’t an issue.

There’s plenty of parking, including some spots in a garage, and the ski storage area for skis, boots, and boards is good. The sauna is clean, and there’s a proper gym if you want to work on your “guns.” You can walk to the lift, though it’s a bit tricky in ski boots but manageable, and you can ski back through the garden. The hotel upgraded my room, which was a big bonus, as I was there just a few days after Valentines. The staff were super friendly, and the rooms and other areas were clean. If you’re a party animal, Finkenberg isn’t the place to stay since there’s nothing to do once the elevator stops running. I came with a friend, but would bring my two kids next time.

The food was perfect, almost a gourmet trip, and the staff were really helpful. We had a wonderful ski holiday here, with big, very clean rooms, a lovely spa, and the lifts very close by. Thank you!
