The staff at the pension were unhelpful and definitely unfriendly. I’ve traveled to over 50 countries, and these people shouldn’t be in hospitality. We had to ask for toilet paper and garbage bags. They didn’t give the kids the free water park passes that, as I later found out, all the hotels in town were supposed to provide. Even my 10-year-old couldn’t stand in the shower because the roof was so low. The sauna room was locked, so guests couldn’t use it. I could go on, but you get the point. Look elsewhere.

The Huber family were very friendly and helpful, and Robert Huber’s local knowledge and fishing expertise were invaluable to me as an angler. We also appreciated being able to rent boats and the flexibility around fishing permits and bad weather. My girlfriend and I stayed four nights. The room was extremely spacious, the prices fair, and breakfast delicious. We’d gladly come back.

The room was great and spotlessly clean, and the chambermaid was friendly. Breakfast was good, the landlady was nice, and we had nothing to complain about.

We loved the apartment and the guesthouse’s garden. Fuschl is idyllic, and Wolfgangsee nearby is lovely too. There’s a very good free bus connection to Salzburg and Bad Ischl. One thing caught us off guard: it’s quite noisy, with all the motorcycles, helicopters flying to the resort on the lake, sightseeing flights, and planes heading to Salzburg Airport.
