We left because we didn't feel safe, and the promised 225 euros refund never came. After we arrived, an old man opened the door, seemed confused or drunk, and asked what we were doing there. We'd booked and paid for three non-smoking rooms for one night, but all three smelled strongly of smoke. The place was dirty, the towels were old and discolored, and I couldn't bring myself to lie on the bed or even open my suitcase. The man kept watching us and even tried to walk into our room. Around 5 o'clock, a group of drunk guests came in, lay in the hallway, and played loud music in the dark. The owner seemed to think that was normal.

We ended up heading back to Germany late at night without finding anywhere to stay, so our plans were ruined. We'd reserved a double room on booking.com for the night of December 26, 2023, and the booking was confirmed. We told the owner we'd arrive late, around 10 pm, but got no reply. When we arrived at that time, he said he'd given our room to someone else and had nothing else available. We complained to booking.com and managed to get a refund, but with the holiday timing and the high cost of a one-night stay, we couldn't arrange another place that late.
