It’s so quiet here, even during the day, that you might think the town is deserted. At night we didn’t need earplugs at all. If peace and quiet matter to you, I’d recommend it. The apartment is spacious and has everything for a longer stay: an oven and hob, dishwasher, large fridge with freezer, and microwave. The bed is soft and very comfortable. There are a few small drawbacks. The apartment is old, with some peeling paint. The wall by the kitchenette is quite dirty and has no tiles, and it’s the same near the toilet sink. The shower hose leaks at the head, which could use replacing, and two frying pans can’t be used. There’s no terrace. You can sit outside by the main entrance at a table and bench, though that’s clear from the photos, so we knew in advance. These are minor, easy-to-fix issues, and for the price it’s very good value.

The bathrooms need more attention with cleaning, especially the toilet, and the living room sofa is close to worn out. Still, everything else was fine and we had a very pleasant stay. The apartment was large and perfectly adequate for a short break, and the hostess was very friendly. The Wild Wonders Card deals were fantastic. Thank you!

I’ve stayed in both the small and large Ötscherbär apartments, and have been very happy each time. The small one feels a bit rustic, with its wooden doors and staircase; the large one has plenty of space and a great bathtub. The furnishings are a little worn in places but still fine. Both have fully equipped kitchens, fridges and freezers, plus a dishwasher, tea maker, toaster and filter coffee maker. The owners are friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect. The nearest ski lift is just a few steps away, the local supermarket is a five-minute walk, and the Ötscherlift is a five-minute drive. I’ve been coming with my family for three years in a row and plan to keep doing so. Highly recommended.
