The only small letdown was the dated room, especially the shower curtain. It really should be replaced with glass partitions, since the curtain just isn’t up to standard. Everything else was almost perfect. The surroundings are beautiful, the food is excellent, and everyone was super friendly, from the cleaning staff and restaurant team to the therapists.

I was passing through and stayed one night in this very nice spa town near Hallein. Booking directly with the hotel gave me very good, fair value. Parking was just about adequate, though spaces were a bit cramped, and breakfast was okay. I was assigned a table. As a spa hotel, it did have a bit of a hospital feel, with dated furnishings. The windows could only be opened in good weather. They couldn’t be tilted, or rain would come in, which is why I took off a point. Overall, quite alright.

Three weeks at GVA went by so fast. I’m leaving with lots of lovely memories and will always think warmly of the area, the spa resort, and the exceptionally kind, capable, friendly staff. Thank you for everything!

First I was told that winter bookings wouldn’t be processed until July or August. Then, unexpectedly, by the beginning of June there were no vacancies left for the end of November. That’s a very questionable way to treat potential guests.
