There’s plenty to do on the lake, and the hikes suit all levels. We had an amazing, memorable stay at Fischer Am See Hotel, with a jaw-dropping view, wonderful food at the restaurant, and five-star service. The staff’s kindness really touched us. We were the only guests who didn’t speak German, but everyone tried to explain things in English and even French. The family atmosphere is still there, and the owners often stop by to greet guests during meals. We’ll definitely return. Danke schon!

From our spacious room, the surrounding mountains were breathtaking. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were great, especially Miss Cindy, who was kind and ready to answer all my questions. Hotel Fischer am See is right by Heiterwang see, which made for a perfect base. Higline 179 is 10 minutes away, and Neuswanstein castle is 25 minutes away. It’s also a great area for hiking and skiing. We spent a couple of days here and highly recommend it!

The restaurant has a lovely lake view, and the servers and lady at reception were very nice. I stopped in for lunch. The menu was limited, but I was happy with what I ordered: the Caesar salad with trout was tasty, nicely presented, and a generous portion, even by Tyrolean standards. The Apfelstrudel was delicious and huge.

What I’ll remember most is how kind everyone was. I had to catch a train, and someone from the hotel drove me to the station, what service! It’s a place I’d love to return to. The spa is awesome, with refreshments and a lake view that make it easy to switch off. Breakfast was fresh, healthy, and delicious, with eggs cooked or fried to order and ham, cheese, or speck available. It’s also a great place to unwind, enjoy nature, or head out walking, hiking, or cycling. You can rent a regular or e-bike, or go supping on the lake, and there are camping options for families with younger kids.

We’ve been coming to Fischer am See for as long as I can remember, and the Bunte Family have always provided good food and service. It’s worth getting there half an hour early for a walk along Heiterwanger See and a bit of appetite building.
