Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Carinzia l 4 Star Superior

We came with a small child, and the staff were thoughtful and responsive to the needs and requests of a young family. The full-board meals were good quality with plenty of choice, and the hotel itself is high quality, with complete spa services. We’d recommend the full-board option.

The staff are extremely friendly, and it’s a really nice hotel. The area works well in every season, with hiking, biking and, of course, skiing, so I’d recommend it year-round.

The room was really comfortable, and nights were so quiet I could hear an owl in the distance. We couldn’t find air conditioning, but even on the hottest day of our stay the room didn’t feel warm. The saunas and relaxation area were nice and clean, too. We visited around the end of May, and I honestly don’t get why this is a 4-star hotel when so much exceeded that level. We’re not usually fans of set menus, but the food was literally super duper good, even better than 5* Falkensteiner in Burgenland. The fresh pasta and pizza were fantastic, and every staff member was super nice. The hotel adds 10 euro per night as a tip for its employees, and believe me, that’s not much compared with what you get. Highly recommended. We’ll definitely come back for a longer stay!

We loved spending a few days here with the family, and bringing our dog was a big plus since the hotel is pet-friendly. It’s right below the slopes next to the Millennium Lift, so we didn’t have to use the car. We rented skis and a snowboard at the hotel, and bought ski passes at reception for a slightly better price. The staff were lovely, from reception to the sports concierge and the restaurant waiters, all friendly and accommodating. The restaurant manager could smile a little more, though.
