Hotel Kapeller

I liked the pleasant neighbourhood, with beautiful houses you might not otherwise see. It’s outside the city centre, but the tram gets you there in 15-20 minutes, and Schloss Ambras is about a 20-minute walk uphill. My third-floor room in the main building got very warm, so I used the fan in the room to cool down on a summer evening. Apart from that, I have no real complaints. The hosts were lovely.

The room was modest, and breakfast was good with plenty to choose from. You can ask at reception for a kettle and tea or coffee making set. My only issue was the toilet right beside the bathroom door. If someone’s using it, it’s easy to bump their knees when you come in.

My single room was modern, roomy, and comfortable, with an exceptionally clean bathroom and a powerful shower. Tea and coffee things aren’t kept in the room, but reception can provide them if you ask. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast had lots of tasty options. The hotel isn’t in the centre, though buses and trams are a few minutes away and take 20-30 minutes to town. There’s also a big shopping centre about 5-10 minutes on foot, with more buses. I’d happily stay again in Innsbruck.

The tram stop is just a few minutes from the hotel, and the ride into the city takes about 15 minutes. Our room was spacious, very clean, and quiet. The staff were friendly and ready to help with any questions. Breakfast was very good, with hot and cold drinks and all kinds of food.
