Hotel Fliana

The value for what I paid just wasn't there, and I won't return. At nearly 900 euros a night, I expected a coffee machine in the room, but there wasn't one, and coffee wasn't available before 7:30 am. It also isn't ski in ski out. Some practical details made the stay frustrating: there was no lock on the room doors, no towels by the pool, and luggage was stored in the gym while people were using it. There's only one masseuse for the whole hotel and spa, and she had a day off when I needed her. The porter service doesn't start before 8 am, so guests have to carry their bags from the room to the car. My room was on the 6th floor, while the elevator only goes to the 5th.

The wine tasting was the part that ruined an otherwise excellent stay. We booked a seven-night package with a ski pass and wine tasting, and chose it because we especially wanted to do the tasting. At check-in, reception asked us to confirm a date and time. We booked Tuesday at 18:00 and were told to be on time. We arrived exactly at 18:00 after making plans around it and canceling other things we could have done. Then we were told the tasting needed to be booked in advance. We explained it had already been scheduled at check-in, but staff still said we needed a reservation. The owner or manager was there and said a German couple was already attending, and we couldn't join because we speak English. We said we didn't mind if the tasting continued in German, but they still refused us, despite our arriving at the agreed time. We asked to reschedule and were told tastings only happen on Tuesdays. We were due to check out Monday morning, so that wasn't possible. When it was clear how disappointed we were, there was very little empathy and no real attempt to sort things out. We paid for the experience, confirmed a time, and got no help, even though it was only one other couple and the language wasn't an issue for us. We received no refund, credit, or alternative offer. We expected more understanding from the management, especially at a premium price. This major disappointment overshadowed the stay, and we won't return. The rest of the hotel was beautiful and very high standard, recently renovated about six months ago, with everything new and impressive. We had a mountain-view suite in an excellent location, literally a one-minute walk from the cable car. The food was excellent, restaurant quality, the menu changed daily, and the waitstaff were kind and professional. The high-end saunas were well maintained. The rooftop jacuzzi beside the pool was amazing, and the mountain view was beautiful. The pool felt a little too cool to me, but was still pleasant.

Last week at the hotel was gordious! Thanks for everything we got to experience. I'd recommend staying here.

Our family spent five nights at Fliana Hotel, and so far it's been our favourite place in Ischgl. The outdoor pools have an exceptional view and were wonderfully warm, and the rooms are bright and spacious. The spa has plenty of saunas and steam baths, dogs are very welcome, and the staff are extremely nice. As someone with celiac disease and many allergies, I especially appreciated the restaurant. I paid an extra 15€ each dinner for a full gluten-free menu, and it was absolutely worth it. I've never eaten so well at a hotel or had such a wide choice. That kind of attention and service is rare. The location is perfect, though booking dates can be quite inflexible in high season, with rules like no Thursday check-in or Sunday or Monday check-out, plus minimum night stays. That can make a weekend ski trip complicated. Still, we're really looking forward to coming back!
