Solaria

The hotel advertised a car valet and transport service, but it was almost never available, so we had to walk about 8 minutes each time. The walk itself wasn't the issue, but charging for a service that wasn't actually provided was misleading. There was a single incident of smoking in the room. We were spoken to about it straight away and didn't smoke again. The room didn't smell of smoke afterward, yet the incident was later used to impose what we felt were excessive, unjustified charges. We had already paid €1,600 for the room and were told we had to pay another €900. They explicitly said our car keys would not be returned unless we paid. Holding our property to force payment was deeply inappropriate and coercive. The situation got worse when security became involved. They acted in a threatening, power-driven way, even though we stayed calm and respectful. It created an unsafe, intimidating atmosphere that felt more like extortion than hospitality. Hotel staff also entered our room without permission, warning, or a legitimate reason, when nothing was wrong. That's a serious invasion of privacy and unacceptable at any hotel, especially one at this price level. Staff were repeatedly unfriendly, dismissive, and unprofessional. When we said the response was out of proportion, my roommate was laughed at. We left shocked, feeling deeply uncomfortable, unsafe, and powerless. The way guests are treated here is intimidating and disrespectful, and unworthy of being called a hotel. Avoid this place unless you're prepared to have your privacy, safety, and dignity disregarded.

The last day turned a normal ski trip into one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. Staff were cold and unwelcoming from the start, and customer service felt irritated, as if guests were a nuisance. On the first day we mistakenly smoked in the room because we honestly didn't know it was forbidden. The hotel warned us, we apologized, and we never did it again. The stay itself was okay, or so we thought. On the final day, while we were out skiing all day, the hotel entered our room without permission despite a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door. They then accused us of smoking again, which is 100% false. Their supposed evidence was seeing cigarettes on a table. There was no smell, proof, ash, or smoke damage. Having cigarettes there doesn't mean we smoked. The accusation was just an assumption. They demanded €1000 based on that, with no discussion or warning. The valet had put our car in the garage, and the hotel refused to release it until we paid. After a long ski trip, being prevented from leaving unless we handed over a huge amount of money felt like extortion. We were treated like criminals, with accusations, intimidation, and pressure instead of respect or professionalism. One honest mistake became a nightmare, and we were punished for something that didn't happen. It completely ruined our trip to Ischgl. I would never return, and would strongly advise others to think twice if they value basic respect, privacy, and fair treatment.

We had a lovely week in this wonderful hotel. The staff were amazing, and our spacious, quiet, well-kept room had a modern bathroom. The restaurant was very good, with a multi-course dinner each night. Its location is ideal, about a 3 minute walk to the big cable car station and bottom of the slops. I'd recommend staying here and would consider it next time we're in Ischgl. Just a couple of things for management: I didn't like being charged for tap water in the restaurant, and the frosted glass bathroom door didn't give much privacy from the bedroom.

The team and owners are what make this hotel special. They're kind and welcoming, nothing feels like too much trouble, and guests end up relaxed and friendly with one another. They made my birthday during our stay feel really special. This was our second family visit, and it's become one of our favourite hotels in the Alps. The main cable car is very close, but the hotel itself is in a peaceful spot. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful modern bathroom. We made use of the pool and sauna complex every day, and the well-equipped gym too. The fresh food and selection were excellent, with a generous breakfast, afternoon tea buffet, and four-course dinner. We had a wonderful week.
