The lively atmosphere in this little town seems to carry right into the place, which is clearly popular. We had a perfect holiday, with beautiful rooms and great food, and the mood was always upbeat.

I had to leave early for a backpacking route, before the included breakfast, so the hosts packed me a lunch to take along. That kindness really stood out. The lodging, food, and service were all incredible, and I'd recommend this place to anyone staying in the area.

We've been here four times, and the meals have been super every visit. I especially recommend the rumpsteak, though the Grillplate is a very good option too. We only tried the garlic soup, and liked it. The staff are kind and quick: our drinks came two minutes after we ordered, and the meals arrived fast as well.

We arrived for a late dinner when most places were closed or no longer serving after 9pm. They were still happy to feed us, and everything tasted great. I'd certainly recommend it.

We came back three times during our stay in Kals for coffee or a bite to eat. There aren't many cafes or diners in this little town, and the central location made it an easy choice. Still, I found the prices unreasonably high. We were really taken aback by 14€ for a simple Kaiserschmarrn, a light pancake served with apple sauce, made with four basic ingredients. A cappuccino was expensive too at 5€. We didn't stay in the rooms.
