Familienparadies Reichenhauser

The Reichenhauser family were incredibly kind, and they took our requests into account. The children had lots of activities and places to play, which made the long weekend wonderfully relaxing for the adults too.

There was so much for children of every age to do that even the parents could relax. They could enjoy tractor rides to the lake, trampolines, a private fairytale forest, and a huge range of play spaces and activities: themed rooms for Lego, Playmobil, climbing, pillow fights, costumes, and crafts, as well as a playground, go-karts, billiards, table tennis, football, blowgun shooting, books to borrow, a children's cinema, archery, a BMX track, and bikes and strollers to rent. There are also free-range chickens, cats, llamas, and horseback riding. The private beach is within walking distance, with plenty of sun loungers, pedal boats, and SUPs. The location is beautiful and quiet, the rooms are clean and comfortable with thoughtful details, and the owners, staff, and childcare providers were friendly, hardworking, courteous, and attentive. Meals from breakfast through dinner were fresh, varied, and very good, and the cake buffet was generous and delicious. A fantastic family holiday.

We used to visit Reichenhauser regularly, but the place looks nothing like it did in past years and feels neglected now. Even during peak season, we hardly saw children riding horses or exploring the enchanted forest, and the café by the playground was closed. I also think management made a long-term mistake by keeping non-hotel guests off the grounds. It feels like the family paradise’s best days are behind it.

We felt at home straight away and even added an extra day. I was there for the Ironman in Klagenfurt, and they had breakfast ready for participants at 4 a.m. The hostess was sweet, fun, and sociable, and happy to help with anything. Our children, aged 4-7, had a wonderful time, with animals roaming around and so many places to play. It felt like being at Pippi Longstocking's Villa Villekulla. They loved the different go-karts, the bikes available to borrow, the playgrounds, football field, tube slide, sandboxes, water playground, and the fairy tale and magic forests. There are Lego rooms and playrooms where children can spend hours, too. The private beach is idyllic, with lovely sunbeds and very clear water, and you can borrow a SUP (stand-up paddleboard) or pedal boat. The area is also great for walks and cycling. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices, and dinner was included as a buffet. You just had to say in the morning if you wanted to join, and they showed the menu; if the children didn’t like a dish, they made them something else. The family rooms were fantastic. A great choice if you want the children to have carefree fun while you enjoy yourself too. Highly recommended!
