The garden and swimming pond must be lovely in summer, if only there weren’t small-dog poop piles scattered around. That’s on the dog owners, but also on the guesthouse owners, who charge €12 per dog per day. After the sauna, you can count the piles while trying to enjoy the fresh air. We were charged €12 a day for our dog, €72 for the week, which is definitely too much for this guesthouse. Comparable places charge €8. Dogs seem tolerated for profit, but clearly aren’t welcome. Our dog was in severe pain one night and exceptionally came to lie with us. The strong painkillers and muscle relaxants stained the bed linen. It wasn’t changed the next day, and because we were embarrassed, we didn’t complain. The linen was only changed on the fourth day. Even with the dog fee and the unusual circumstances, the owner still wanted us to pay for new linen. We argued with the owner, and it ruined the rest of our holiday. The room is sparse. The bathroom is tiny, with an old, showy toilet and a 75cm shower. You have to plan how to turn around in there, or you’ll get bruised. Hot water takes patience too. After 9:00 a.m., you have to keep prompting the owners to refill the breakfast buffet, even though breakfast runs until 10:00. The guesthouse owner's friendliness feels forced and artificial.
