We had the family room at the top of the hotel, which was handy because any noise from the kids wouldn’t disturb other guests. It was roomy, with a separate space for them and a huge bathroom. Breakfast was good, the location was okay, and there was parking in front. One thing to keep in mind: every room is reached by stairs. My elderly mother managed them while travelling with us, but it’s worth knowing.

The room was large and had a balcony, and there was free parking. It took about a 20-minute walk to reach downtown. There’s no air conditioning, but we left the balcony door open and the room got quite chilly at night. It’s an older hotel, though clean and comfortable, with a decent breakfast.

I’d rather sleep at the bottom of the lake than stay here again. The rooms were old and dirty, and the staff were completely indifferent. I think the man was the owner, but he showed no manners or respect toward guests. Absolutely horrible place, avoid it.

Our 1.5-year-old son got sick five days before our stay, after the free-cancellation deadline had passed. The hospital told us we couldn’t travel with him. Even so, the hotel wouldn’t change the dates and charged the full reservation fee. I emailed and called, but got the same response. The phone operator showed no compassion, asked if I wanted to cancel, said I had to pay, and didn’t want to continue the call. Never again. I expect the same lack of welcome to apply to the rest of the service there.

The room itself was perfectly fine, and the staff were kind. But the pillow was so uncomfortable it felt more like a brick. The TV looked smashed or punched and didn’t work, soap leaked from the dispenser all over my things on the counter, and the tissue dispenser fell off the wall and wouldn’t stay attached.
