Peilsteingut

We stayed five of us, including three kids, in the attic at "Peilsteingut" and really enjoyed it. The accommodation was very clean, though the kitchen was a bit small. It was fine for soup or salad, but for cooking for a whole family I’d eat out most evenings at one of the many good places in Kleinarl. Gabriela und Stefan and the rest of the family were very kind and welcoming. They’re clearly keen to provide good service and quality. Breakfast is great and I’d recommend it: fresh bread, homemade milk, eggs every day, and no cleaning :-). We enjoyed the Thursday BBQ and bonfire for families, which I believe is always arranged on Thursdays. Beer and bread were on the house; bring your own meat. They also own the "Weisenhoff" Almhutte, a really great spot about a 1.5-hour hike from the mountain station. I was surprised by how friendly everyone in this part of Austria was. Maybe we’ll come back next year.

Lovely hosts, a beautiful location, and quality accommodation.

The view from the farm is breathtaking, and lovely hikes start right at the door. We stayed a whole week without needing the car, since the valley station and a supermarket are only a few minutes away on foot. Our Ennskrax apartment worked perfectly for our two families and four children. It was clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. The hosts were so friendly and had fun ideas for guests, including a campfire with freshly roasted treats. The kids loved that, and there was plenty else to keep them busy, from the playroom to the cows, goats, and rabbits. We'd love to come back. Thanks for a wonderful week!

The hosts were friendly, and the farm sits in a beautiful landscape. The sandbox is great, though it would be nice to replace the broken toys now and then. Our enjoyment was dampened when we arrived and found a huge youth hostel, with about 100 beds, less than 10 meters from our holiday apartment. Buses brought large, very noisy groups of young people every day. We couldn't make use of the apartment's lovely balcony, and with the noise going on until 10 p.m., it was hard to relax.
