Mondschein Chalet Ski-In Ski-Out

A real plus was the staff, who were kind, friendly, and very helpful. The rest of the stay had several drawbacks. The rooms have poor soundproofing, so we could hear people next door or upstairs walking, moving chairs, and even talking. The photos online also gave a misleading impression of the space: the furniture is real, but the colors are heavily edited and the 0.5x iPhone-style wide shots make it look much larger and more luxurious. In reality, it felt more like a small hostel than a luxury hotel, with a budget feel. The sleeping rooms are separate from the check-in area and facilities. The sauna, restaurant, and hotel services are available, but the sauna is about a 10-minute walk uphill. Some stretches feel extremely steep, almost 30°. In winter it’s cold, windy, dark, and poorly lit, so after a sauna it’s hard to want to walk back for 10 minutes in freezing weather at night. This isn’t ski-in ski-out either. You have to walk outside to reach the lift, which I’ve heard isn’t especially scenic or convenient. I took the bus to Lech because the skiing there is much better, but the bus schedule is limited. The last bus back is around 7:30 PM, so going elsewhere or staying out later means returning early. A taxi is possible, but it costs around €70 one way from Lech back to the hotel area. It’s probably the cheapest hotel in the area, and these are the trade-offs. It may suit someone on a tight budget who doesn’t mind walking, planning around transport, and putting up with occasional noise. If comfort, convenience, quiet, and flexibility matter to you, I’d strongly recommend spending more and staying elsewhere. I’m sharing this so people know what they’re booking.

We loved how quiet and peaceful it was here, and the rooms were beautiful. It felt much nicer than staying in St Anton. Breakfast came to our door every morning, we were right by the gondola, and the restaurants and après in Stüben were wonderful. There was even a sauna IN the room!

Our chalet was spacious and beautifully decorated, with a private Sauna. We spent hours talking late into the night on the sun loungers on our own terrace. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had a pleasant stay. My girlfriend and I came to get away from it all and weren’t disappointed. Thank you for an incredible stay. We’ll be back!
