The hosts were so welcoming, and the apartment was lovely, spotless, and had everything we needed. We had a great winter break and have already reserved it for next year.

You can walk straight from the farm onto trails around Lake Walchsee, and the meadows fill the valley with the Zahmer Kaiser across from you. It feels wonderfully quiet, especially compared with the modern hotels nearby. The farmhouse is traditional, while the apartment itself is roomy and modern, with the furnishings and dishes chosen to go together. A free ski bus to Hochkössen or the Zahmer Kaiser is an 8-10 minute walk away. You can arrange bread delivery and buy milk from the farm; cheese and butter are sold at the organic dairy in Walchsee. Fischerwirt, said to be the area's best restaurant, is a 20-minute walk. A real little gem for a holiday.

The private beach on Lake Walchsee was a highlight for us. We were there as a family with one child and felt right at home. The apartments are modern and top quality, set in a completely renovated farmhouse, and had everything we could want. We'd happily return.
