Maar1 am Goldberg

Communication was easy, and the kitchen had everything we needed. It’s a big house with large rooms, in a lovely spot with a perfect view. Everything was great!

The mountain views and quiet, secluded setting were a real bonus, with hiking trails, walks, and outings right on the doorstep. We had a wonderful week at Maar am Goldberg with a large international group, and the house gave us plenty of room to be together without feeling crowded. It’s cozy and tastefully furnished, and the renovation was done with care. The many comfortable places to sit, from the kitchen corner bench to the living room sofa and tiled stove, plus the couches upstairs, made it ideal for our multigenerational trip. The kitchen was the best equipped I’ve ever seen in a vacation home. We felt right at home and would love to return!

We loved the quiet setting surrounded by nature, with wonderful views in every direction. The main road and excellent restaurants are only a few minutes away by car. In summer, there are presumably trails leading straight from the house, though they weren’t cleared in winter; only the small access road was passable. One winter tip: you may need snow chains. The owner was quick to reply, easy to deal with, and accommodating. Everything was spotless, there were plenty of towels, and generous supplies of toilet paper, paper towels, firelighters, and candles. Heating was quick and easy to adjust, and we appreciated the big, cozy fireplace and ample firewood. Sofas in several lounge areas gave us room to relax. It’s a spacious, comfortable farmhouse, renovated with a tasteful mix of modern and antique details. The rooms are all large, with a modern kitchen, three lovely bathrooms, and four big bedrooms. The first-floor mattresses were a little too firm for me, though that’s personal preference. A real find, and highly recommended!

We had our annual family reunion here, and the spacious rooms made it a great fit. The original floor plan seems to have been changed very little, and the old building has been renovated with care and taste, while still offering every comfort. It’s tucked into quiet, unspoiled forests and meadows, but amenities are easy to reach.
