Apart Ladis

The whole thing left a really bad taste. We booked apartment 1, with two bedrooms, based on the good reviews, received an emailed PDF confirmation, and paid the deposit straight away. Over a week later, a second confirmation arrived without any explanation. I initially thought it just acknowledged the payment, but it listed apartment 3, with one bedroom. I contacted the owner to say we had booked apartment 1 and wanted to keep it. He replied briefly that he needed apartment 1 for a larger group, had put us in apartment 3 with a €200 discount, and would return the deposit if we didn't accept. There was no apology. We checked the website's terms, which clearly said he couldn't make that change, and told him the original booking should stand under his own terms. He said it was unfortunate we had answered in “such a hard tone” and gave us the choice of taking apartment 3 or cancelling and getting the deposit back. We cancelled. Very disappointing.
