The ski-in, ski-out setting in Oberlech is fantastic, and the sledding hill next door stays open in the evenings. Getting to the lift does mean a short uphill walk, though you can ski down to Lech village and take the lift from there. The staff made arrival really easy: our bags were brought to the rooms, our ski gear was unpacked and put in the lockers, and the lift passes were ready. They’re helpful whenever you need something, while otherwise staying discreet. The rooms were clean and had charming Austrian-style décor. Dinner was fine, if a little expensive for the quality, but the cozy restaurant is handy when you want to eat at home, and the staff there are lovely. Great wine list. I can’t recommend this fantastic hotel enough.

The drinks were decent, and dessert was good, but lunch was a letdown. The chicken Caesar salad had cold, raw chicken and a sauce like runny mayo. My friend ordered carbonara without pork, as requested, but it was cold and tasteless, mostly cream with crusty pasta. Service was slow, and they seemed to ignore us.

We stopped in for lunch while skiing. The staff were friendly, service was quick, and the carbonara was one of the best I’ve ever had.

We came by to retrieve my son’s iPhone, which he’d lost while skiing 😤🤣. Since the terrace got plenty of sun, we stayed for a quick bite. The wine was decent and the frittaten soup was good.
