Hotel Haldenhof

The restaurant served a gourmet dinner every evening, and breakfast was scrumptious. Since we had an early checkout, the staff had even packed breakfast for us without being asked. They seemed to anticipate everything. Our rooms were elegant and exceptionally comfortable, with complimentary parking and excellent sauna and spa facilities. Haldenhof sits a stone’s throw from the ski lift, yet just far enough from the bustle to make getting around with kids easy. It feels boutique and sophisticated, with a well-trained team and a place that runs smoothly. Guests become part of the family, which helps explain why people come back year after year. We spent a week there in January, and I’m so grateful for the warm welcome my family received. It combines old-world charm with clean, modern amenities. We visited some other well-known hotels nearby, but none compared. All we wanted to do was relax and enjoy the splendid beauty of the Alps.

We’ve just had another week at hotel Haldenhof, and the service, facilities, and food were as impressive as ever. This time our early morning taxi to the airport was delayed. At 4.30 am Michael took his own car and drove us to a village where another taxi was waiting, so we made our flight on time. Thanks again to Michael, Claudia, Hannibal, Rebecca, Florin, and everyone.

The spa is the real highlight, and I’d especially recommend the steam room. The pool’s small, but it does the job for the hotel’s guests. We stayed over a week as a family of four, and our spacious junior suite had soft beds, spotless cleaning every day, and a lovely balcony for sunny afternoons. The team seems close-knit, which added to the warm feel. Breakfast had plenty of variety, and the dinners got me trying new dishes and flavours. At four every day there’s cake, and you can order drinks at the bar too. Oliver makes a great iced coffee. There’s lots to do around here if you enjoy hiking, skiing, and good food. This was our third visit, and we’re already hoping to come back again.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the half-board meals were good. Rooms are large and laid out nicely, with pleasant shared spaces too. A note to Michael: I’d first posted a review here for a different hotel by mistake. I’m sorry, and I’ve corrected it.
