I can only comment on lunch, since we ate here at the 5-star hotel but didn’t try dinner. The service was friendly and fine, though not quite what I’d expect at a place of this rating. My friend said the beef tartare was excellent. I had the truffle carpaccio, but found it disappointing because the truffles barely came through and the dish lacked flavor. The main courses were much better: the shrimp were superb, and my friend loved the Viennese veal schnitzel, which was so tender it melted in the mouth. In general the food was tasty. Prices are higher than elsewhere, but I’d return.

This may have been a 5-star hotel in the 70s, but it’s certainly not one now. It feels at least two decades out of date, and it seems nobody is looking after it. It’s overpriced and I can’t recommend it. I’m posting this review in several places so people can be warned before spending their hard-earned money on a low-quality place like this. That’s for their benefit, not yours. Obviously, nobody at the hotel seems to care about anything.

For the price, we had an amazing stay. The rooms were large and luxurious, and the service was amazing. The pool was really cool, with infinity views and indoor and outdoor sections. There were lots of dry and wet sauna rooms, plus massage. Breakfast was amazing too, and parking was available. It felt like a luxury experience at a reasonable price.

We had a spacious room with a good view, and the indoor and outdoor pools and spa center were great. The hotel is very nice and close to the city center. Staff were excellent, and breakfast was pretty good. All in all, a great experience.

We loved the food, with plenty of tasty choices for different tastes, and the attentive, friendly staff made us feel looked after. The Grandhotel Lienz also had extensive spa facilities. We spent time in the large indoor and outdoor pool, then relaxed in the saunas and steam rooms, each with its own character. My husband and I were impressed as soon as we arrived. Our room was spacious, elegantly decorated, and inviting, with breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery. The hotel was also a great fit for our holiday. The charming Lienz Christmas market was only a short walk away, and we enjoyed browsing the festive stalls and soaking up the holiday spirit. Our stay at the Grandhotel Lienz was wonderful and exceeded all our expectations. I’d highly recommend it for a luxurious getaway with lovely views, great service, and fantastic amenities. I can’t wait to return!
