The place was neat and clean, the price felt fair, and the people were nice. I’d recommend it for families with kids too. Still, yesterday was odd: reception was left unattended, and two of us waited 20 minutes for our booked room. Nobody showed up, so we eventually had to leave and find another room for the night. I do like JUFA hotels, so don’t take this one incident as the whole picture.

The cook even packed some food for my journey when I left, and a guest at the hotel once made me delicious Kaiserschmarrn. I was recovering there after a motorcycle crash near Koflach in 2016, when I was riding through heavy rain and injured my foot. A policeman named Heinz brought me to JUFA Hotel and arranged a room until I healed. Everyone was kind and kept checking on me. They washed and dried my soaked clothes, and the cook served me very generous portions. I’m sorry it took me so long to write this, since I’d promised I would. I think I felt bad that I’d forgotten the names of the wonderful staff who helped me. I’ll never forget what they did, though. I couldn’t have crashed in a better town.

The service was good, though this isn’t a luxury hotel. It’s a great spot for families, with lovely views, some activities for children, and large two-level family rooms.
